Errrm. Roast duck.

Not v. imaginative but I have been rushing about like a blue arsed fly and have to go out again in an hour to rehome the mega bee swarm I spent half the day coaxing into a brood box.

Duck is good for the soul. Bugger the arteries.

Fish finger butties
but at least it was home made (breadmachine) bread and with home grown & pickled onions

Hectic day at work and really couldn't be bothered, which is a shame as I like to cook.

Not home-made fish fingers, Jells?

I bought some fish fingers recently and was hugely disappointed - they bore no relation to the fish fingers of my youth whatsoever. Have taken to making my own now - with saffron in the breadcrumbs to make them that lovely yellow colour.

We are having lasagne again as I have been so madly busy all day I couldn't get my head round anything more complex. Still not going to be on the table before 7.15 - Bad Dad! Leo is having a jam sandwich (homemade bread and jam) and off to bed. In my defence they did not get home until ten mins ago.

Paneer & chickpea curry with home made naan bread. Found some of my home made curry sauce in the back of the freezer, and some frozen paneer. Defrosted those, chopped up half an onion, couple of sticks of celery and cooked it all up with a tin of chickpeas. Naan bread made with flour, yoghurt, cumin seeds.

Bean casserole with dumplings, and greens from the garden - digging up the cabbage has liberated enough space to plant out another tomato: whoo hoo!!

Pasta with tomato sauce made last year and frozen with the last of last years broad beans. The freezer is looking scarily bare. Only 12 more meals that can come from there so the garden needs to start providing! Still eating the soft fruit from the freezer too.

Fish Finger butties..now that is definately better remembered then tried these days!

The various spinachs/chards I have are starting to bolt, so that is a lot of greenery to get through:
raw spinach in salad with feta cheese, and strips of red pepper (grilled and then frozen in tubs)
spinach omelette as they make in Barcelona in every caf
spinach quiche/tart
spinach soup

Didn't the Famous Five always say that food tasted much better when it was eaten outdoors?
