Where I lived in Japan there were vending machines outside my apartment selling cigarettes, bottles of whisky and energy drinks, which covered pretty much all of my daily needs.
There were also vending machines that sold, er, well-used ladies underwear.
Now how we got there from crabs I am not sure.

But on a more serious note, (& I know this is a cookery thread) if wronguns bought them & released them all over the place it could possibly cause a bit of an ecological problem, with them getting into places that they shounldn't...

Am I being a bit obtuse here? Presumably you take them home and cook them rather than eating on the hoof???

Yes I think so but they are live & kept at a low temperature to keep them in a state of slumber, it doesn't say how long it takes them to wake up...

MrD has just remembered the story he heard once about a man walking down the street, who met another man walking along with a lobster under his arm. 'Are you taking that lobster home for tea?' asked the first man. 'No' was the reply, 'He's had his tea - I'm taking him for a walk!'
