default Hello from Denmark

Post by TheDane on 10th February 2011, 6:06 pm

I've just joined, therefore I thought I would introduce myself. I came across this site by pure accident, while looking for a good recipe for oak leaf wine. In my daily life I try to expand my green way of life gradually. Last year I got a small allotment (I think it's called that in English Embarassed ), where I try to grow as many vegatables as possible. Beside the allotment, I also have a fondness for the hedgerow, which is a great source of good food. Of course some times it can be hard to find the time, when it has to be combined with a work life too (I am a college lecturer).

But it was a great delight to find this many equal minded people. And I especially like your motto Very Happy

Snow is lovely, but after a while I imagine it must get very euuuuuuuuuuuu... Neutral Not long now, days are growing longer, birds are beating ten bells out of each other.. Rolling Eyes soon be hot enough to frolick in a fountain whilst jumping up and down and going "Oooooooooo mine's a double"... Shocked

A little bit insane is always good Very Happy

But yes, the days are getting longer, but in Denmark it's just not going fast enough. We are still not in plus degress jet (celcius, don't know about fahrenheit), but I am optimistic Very Happy

I have just tried to plant potatos in a bucket, any experience with that? But know I think it's time to lean back and homebrew of course

More so with the homebrew.. Cool Laughing I grow my potatoes in the open ground, but I do believe, in a bucket, you just keep them frost free, keep them well watered, (hope you've put in drainage holes...) and add layers of soil as the leaves grow up, like earthing up out on open ground.. and then I think you eat them? Wink
