Do you refill your Ecover products?

default Do you refill your Ecover products?

If so, do you mind me asking how much you pay to do so? Especially if you are in the UK.

Today paid 30% more to refill my laundry detergent than the bottle cost originally! So agog at it all that I've even blogged about it: http://mrsc.typepad.co.uk/being_mrs_c/2011/03/it-costs-how-much.html

Thanks!

I refill my Ecover bottles athttp://beunpackaged.com/ but I am aware that it is costing me more.

You can but Ecover stuff in bulk from Ocado. They do fabric conditioner and washing up liquid in 5L packs - I tend to buy my washing up liquid this way.

Wiggly Wigglers http://www.wigglywigglers.co.uk/shop/category.html?activecategory_id=19&-session=shopper:5245124607667346B6qkX1DD4C46

sell Ecover stuff in 5L bottles. I'm currently working my way through a toilet cleaner one (using it to refill little ones) and my dad and I share the hand soap one - I need to get more.

I think ww used to sell 25L drums - my friend and neighbour accidentally ordered that instead of the 5L one and I believe ts still working her way through it! Looks like Ecover now sell 15L as maximum size.

Perhaps a group of us should get together!

Thanks JG - I do buy my washing up liquid in the 5l containers from Ocado and refill a smaller bottle from them. It's the laundry liquid where I'm coming unstuck though as with LMC we do do a lot of washing. And looking at WW they don't seem to sell that at all... I may have to send an email in their direction to ask why as they do sell fabric softener and delicates washing liquid.

I may learn to read before sending any emails! Embarassed They do sell 5l containers of the laundry liquid, but the reviews of the new packaging are pretty poor...

And at that price it would work out as an equivalent of buying a 1.5l bottle at £6.15 making it cheaper to refill the 1.5l bottle I have, but more expensive than buying a new 1.5l bottle from Ocado. Ho hum. I never realised how much I need to look at all the different prices everywhere!

I buy the 5 l size, would love to have room for the bigger ones but don't. I also get 5 l of Faith in Nature Shampoo, conditioner and decant into a smaller bottle for use in the bathroom. Saves me trips into Ledbury to fill up bottles. And I can re use the contailers after for all sorts of stuff.

Works out very economical.

But if you are close to a shop which does refills it is better ( environmentally) to walk to it and fill up your small bottle. For me that is a less desirable option I am afraid. And probably for bronze as well Very Happy

I must look at Abel and Cole.

When I did but Bio-D, I thought it worked out more expensive - but my source was Oxfam! Trying to remeber whether I liked their washing liquid now. Question
