default How Many Different Uses For... Tennis & ping pong balls...

"Underground, Overground, Wombling Free,
The Wombles of Wimbledon Common are we.
Making good use of the things that we find,
Things that the everyday folks leave behind.

We're so incredibly, utterly devious
Making the most of everything.
Even bottles and tins.
Pick up the pieces and make them into something new,
Is what we do!"

The lyrics from the first & last verse of "The Wombling Song"

Thinking of Elisabeth Beresford who passed away over the Xmas period, I thought it may be nice to pick an everyday object each month & see how many different ideas for uses we can come up with...

For July - Tennis & ping pong balls ... (Thanks Dandelion for the suggestions)

...and there must be a few spare tennis balls knocking around now that Wimbledon's over!

If you use a tumble drier you can put a couple of tennis balls in to help dry certain items. Mr D has a padded jacket which is stuffed with down, and the instructions tell you to use tennis balls in the drier. It doesn't say how many....

When getting lil boys to use the toilet, put a ping pong ball in the bowl and get them to try and hit it with their um.. stream.. Embarassed stops them missing the bowl completely.. Rolling Eyes Laughing

Every car I've ever owned that had a towbar had a tennis ball for a towbar cover. The best ones were orange, but usually I had to make do with the boring yellowy green ones.

Tennis balls make good back massagers for pregnant women in labour - as recommended by the NCT?

Ping Pong balls halved and used for eyes of puppets.

Kermit the Frog, and many other of Jim Henson's creations, used them. Because, seriously, where are you going to go pop out to the shops for a half bag of puppetery amphibian eyes?????

Also, the tennis balls I've seen suspended from string in the garage so when it bumps the windscreen, you're done. Won't hit the wall, spare fridge, etc.

Attatch ping pong to a piece of cotton, hang up like a mobile to help keep the birds off the garden.

Might be silly, but who remembers playing 2 ball up against a wall?
