I don`t mean how to`s or patterns as there are other threads to put those in, but the little things that you do automatically & seem so simple. Most of us craft in some way or another so lets have lots tips please. They may seem simple to you, but some of us may not have thought of them.

I suddenly found out after about 3 years that using the spongy sticky pads is lot easier using tweezers than a scalpel & a lot quicker too.

If you want to use really small amounts of glue, a babies medicine syringe is cheaper to buy than the specialist dipensers you can buy.

And for Really REALLY small amounts of glue (such as model building) I'll just dip the tip of a toothpick into the glue.

If you need to use a wax paste finish on something, you can warm the tin of paste up just enough by leaving it atop the clothes dryer while it's running. Serve double duty for the excess thermal energy. And, the wax penetrates better warm. (Works great for shining boots too Wink )

Thread keep twisting when you are sewing? Run it over a wax candle, the wax keeps it a little bit more rigid.

Tailors used to had a disc of beeswax just for this reason.

I have a big block in my sewing box for just this purpose but it needs to be hard beeswax rather than the soft sort...not sure what bees make different wax for, but there is a difference!

If you use Fimo etc clear nail varnish makes a good shiny finish for things.

If you have a lot of cards to make at one time, gift tags make excellant fronts & are really easy & quick to use.

For young children, a pack of seasonal cards & some tubes of glitter glue will keep them quiet for ages.

To mark your place in a pattern, use a paper clip, either a large one or a small one & just move it down as you go.

If you have a lot of stitches on a needle & they keep popping off the end, a square of card pushed on the needle helps to keep them in place.

The really cheap earings that you get in the cheapy shops make really good toppers for cards.

Costume jewelry, especially old dangly earrings make nice decorations for the Xmas tree & strings of beads drape nicely too.

Christmas patchwork squares sewn together & with a small piece of ribbon make pretty gift bags, or stuffed with a small amount of padding make pretty tree decs.

Great idea MM - thank you. I tend to scribble all over my patterns with highlighters, but using paperclips is a much less messy way to do it.
