Draw up a chair and have a cup of FEBRUARY tea

Post by Jaded Green on 1st February 2012, 9:31 am

I've only just remembered it is February already.

I'll have a good tidy up in the tea room later, but for now I've plumped the cushions, stoked the fire, filled the kettle, brought in the milk (it's cold outside) and checked the supplies. And everyone is very conscientious about washing up their own mugs!

My day - indeed the next two days have just changed. Was going to take my mum to the hairdresser this morning and then accompany my parents to the ballet tomorrow, but my mum doesn't feel up to it.

Thinking of all of you with all you are going through - happy and sad.

Have a good day everyone. Keep warm

Good morning special eggs, up freakishly early today, the poor longsuffering spouse has been ill all night and so I have been awake all night Shocked well woken up a lot as he tried to be quiet and not wake me - bless.

I told him that he is calling in sick and he agreed, which must mean he really is poorly sick and dying, he never does what he is told. He' just cancelling his day and then back to bed with him!

Hope all are well and hearty on this bright new month

That's the first batch of marmalade finished. Feet up for 10 minutes, then take the dog out on this beautifully sunny but cold day.

Oh bugger, I forgot about marmalade season - there was a grapefruit lemon and lime one that I wanted to give a go

Adrian - you can do grapefruit lemon and lime marmalade any time. It's only the Seville oranges you can only get in Janaury

Have got a huge pot of red cabbage simmering. I'll have to freeze some, we'll never get through it!

OH, I know, I just like to get my marmalading done at one point in the year, otherwise it gets buried by my spring tasks and jobs.

Oddly enough, I was in the supermercado yesterday and didn't see any Sevilles - that normally prompts my marmalade frenzy
