I'm so pleased with how this turned out that I wanted to have a bit of a brag.
It makes a nice change to be producing something that isn't a card.

I particularly like the way the leaves have turned out - it's lovely.

Very nice. I am always amazed at the detailed work you do - is that the knife you did all the cutting with, or do you use a scalpel, or can you fit a scalpel blade in the knife ?

The knife is just an adjustable handle that takes scalpel blades - I find that is sits easier in my hand than a surgical scalpel..

Its just going to be backed, then framed - it was commissioned by a local beef farmer wife as a valentines gift for her husband.

I have, I forgot to put it up.
Sadly the phot doesn't show the true colour of the backing card - it was a lovely pale cream, gave the piece a rustic quality that I was so pleased with

Funnily enough, the giftee, a gruff local farmer came to the market today to complain that I hadn't signed it.

well i sure hope you signed it for him in the end.

I love how the leaves have come out. Looks really good.

Do you design and cut it all by hand or do you have a cricut or something similar?

I design and cut by hand when working on commissions, the work that I sell commercially, that I design by hand, scan and digitize, then cut with my cutter plotter - the Silhouette Cameo i bought myself in December.

That's funny! I never used to sign my work until my friend, also a professional calligrapher, asked if I did. When I said no, I didn't sign my work she told me quite firmly "Well you should! You should always own your mistakes".

HEllo! welcome back.

There is no other side Very Happy I tend to think of us as being two separate but complimentary fora, no need for any sense of rivalry anymore.

Anyway, thank you, it took me ages to learn the difference between a beef and dairy cow, the customer was quite adamant Razz it be beef
