default RSPB Birdwatch

Post by Chilli-head on 25th January 2015, 10:57 am

It's time for the RSPB birdwatch this weekend ... we did it yesterday, but 2 crows was about as exciting as it got here - and I was hoping for a golden eagle ! (Answers to the name of Norman, and is on the loose somewhere in Bedfordshire, if you were wondering what I'm talking about).

Norman doesn't seem a very macho name for an eagle! For some reason, we seem to have so few birds when it's the birdwatch, so I haven't joined in for a few years. (I did see a little wren yesterday, but you can bet your bottom dollar that it wouldn't appear if I had a clipboard in my hand!!)

We do this every year. I had expected a very poor showing, as it seems very quiet in the garden at the moment. However, we came up with 12 species in the end - not large numbers of anything except woodpigeons. Noticed a robin in and out of our garage via a broken window. Maybe we'll have chicks again!
