default Grand designs

Post by Chilli-head on 9th October 2015, 4:27 pm

Last night I was catching up on some of the recorded episodes of Grand Designs, including one which I would rate as the best since Ben Law's house (the woodsman building a cruck frame house in the woods, if you haven't seen it, why not ?).

Anyway, this one had a likeable chap Angelo of Italian descent renovating a rock cut home in Worcestershire.  A huge amount of labour, much of which he did with his own hands, with very little to follow for guidance. Totally out of the ordinary, with a superb and inspiring (IMHO) end result. A truely handmade home, and one of the few Grand designs that left me feeling a bit jealous of his new pad !

Available on demand (with sign up) here.

PS: I'm not in the pay of Kevin McCloud, even though I keep recommending his programmes !

Oh, that rock house has been in the local papers. I've only seen a view of the outside, but it looks wonderful.
