Burwash manor apple day

default Burwash manor apple day

Post by Chilli-head on 16th October 2015, 6:09 pm

Last Saturday I spent the day at Burwash manor apple day with some of the Wimpole green woodworkers.  Burwash manor site has a collection of shops in converted farm buildings - a tea room, produce shop, craft shops etc.  The apple day is in aid of the Sick Children's Trust,  and the East of England Apples and Orchards Project - who I bought my new fruit trees for the allotment from -  were there to do apple ID, there were stalls selling apples and juice, vintage tractor ploughing etc.

It was a good day - the weather held and there was plenty of interest, especially from the younger visitors.  Jim's wooden bowls were most popular.  I managed to get some chair parts made, and some more Christmas trees and snowmen - along with quite a blizzard of shavings !

One thing I liked when I was perusing around was this wonderfully simple bike rack, great bit of reduce, reuse, recycle !  Very Happy
