default Clicking into "new posts"

Post by Sparhawk on 21st February 2010, 2:14 am

Recently I have been having problems after clicking into, "posts since last visit", when I click into a particular post all others then register as being viewed I then have to go through a very labourious process to catch up...

Any ideas please...

Silly answer I know but are you clicking on the left hand side,? Most of the other forums have "posts since etc" on the right & maybe you are getting in a muddle. Done it meself a couple of times.

Thanks Badger, have run CCleaner through & allowed it to take the cookies out, & seems to have worked...

Is it possible to have "view new posts" instead of view posts since last visit?
If I look in when I have only a spare minute, then log in later when I've got time to give it more attention, then the new posts are no longer displayed, so I've got to seek them out manually.

Cheers Boss.
Different forums do it different ways, but on one I post on (not that one Wink), it remembers the "view newest post" flag almost indefinitely.
That, IMO is the best way to do it: you always know if you're up to date on a thread or not.
