default Franchi preserving masterclass Sat 12 June

Post by Chilli-head on 8th June 2010, 10:38 am

Just received this by e-mail, if anyone is interested ...

Paolo Arrigo wrote:

MASTERCLASS 12 JUNE ON PRESERVING AND SUMMER SOWING VEG - Before I list the many varieties for sowing in June, we have some spaces left on our informative masterclasses this saturday which will cover in particular, sowing veg in the summer and old Italian preserving methods (in fact, I have invited Mamma Arrigo who will be present for the first session at 1015 - who could possibly resist such wisdom!).

Seriously though, we'll be showing how to make passata, hermitically seal a jar so it will keep in a larder for upto a year, how to dry, how to make pesto and so on. There are 2 classes on saturday the 12th of June which were also featured in Country Living Magazine, at 1015 and at 1315 for 2 hours and at £17 (including 3 packets of regular seeds of your choice, Italian cake and coffee/tea), we think it is super value and we hope you can make it. We are offering a pair of tickets for £30 by phone booking only on 0208 427 5020 or you can buy single tickets online at http://www.seedsofitaly.com/catalogue/36

Hmm, how to make passata and how to seal a jar doesn't sound too earth-shaking, but not a bad deal at all for £17, including cake and seeds. I had to read it twice to make sure I had not missed a zero off the end of the price - almost all courses you see advertised are £150 these days. The winter veg course looks pretty good.
