It works well in very other way Badger, so I would not concern yourself.

If they had been elsewhere it would not have mattered!!

Thanks Badger...its all OK now..

I don't personally have a problem with the ads? Its not as if you are choosing to make us read ads for stuff..its part of the "free" aspect of the site...

I was a bit nonplussed to see an ad for a Christian dating agency in The Yurt, though... Very Happy Wink

To be honest I only have a problem with ads when they obscure useful buttons - other than that it's easy enough to ignore them.

I am entirely non-discriminatory regarding religion. Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, Pagans - back in the day I 'dated' them all. Once at least. :bounce:

It seemed singularly appropriate in this context.

I think on balance the Catholics were the best 'daters' - perhaps because they were certain it was a sin from the outset...

Yes I would second that!! The Nuns were so strict with them that when they eventually got out they were a bit wilder then most!!

Plus they are sure they will be forgiven for their sins.

Those were the days Billy!

They certainly would, but a Catholic Priest I used to know would have been even more entertaining, he was one of the most popular priests in Scotland. Hardly anyone went to the services in the area he took over, they all were in the pubs, so he used to do a different pub every other night to get to know the locals, he used to find out who needed help, wasnt well etc while in the pub and would call and see and help them the following day, he could tell a good story anyhow but his comic timing developed from talking and listening in the pubs and made him one of the most popular people ever to take the position in the area, he filled his services as he could relate everything to real people. A brilliant character.

He was brilliant, everyone used to knit jumpers and sell them, in the Winter months and they would do this as a social event rather than knitting on their own, so a few people would go to each others homes and would take their own tipple with them, then another persons another night and so on, he learnt how to knit and used to do this too. So he was always well in touch with the people. When he retired in England he did the same, went to the local pub, when pubs were more social gathering places than places for meals as they mainly are now, he was instantly popular with the locals. He wasnt a big drinker or anything, no blue nose, just one drink to be social, usually a Rum and off he would go. He was a person you could sit and talk to for hours and they would pass as if they were minutes.

He was wonderful a character with substance.

Thats so wonderful and I so wish I could have had the opportunity to have a talk with him myself... its not often one has the occasion to sit with a person and totally lose track of time...
A person of great character as you say and anyone who has ever had the chance to meet with this lovely man was truly blessed!! xx
