Move to the Country?
Move to the Country?
From a friend.
His family have owned a couple of fields for over 100 years & worked it in various ways, ie lumber yard scrap yard etc.
New people move close by & object to the smell of controled evening bonfires, not all day affairs or every day & not things like rubber. Council gets involved father is cautioned, he must be in his 60/70s, & ends up with an ASBO
Result, Billy will love this, he now keeps pigs which has annoyed the hell out of them, but there is nothing they can do.
Had to tell you as it just cracked me up in the pub.

I think I might get some chooks and a cockerel to keep at their end of the field too.
Brilliant.

Re: Move to the Country?
Geese are good as well. Make a LOT of noise, do geese.
And Ducks.
And Goats.
Geese poo a lot as well.
A comfrey bin might be worth doing, obviously it would be needed for agricultural use. And necessity would mean it had to be sited close to the boundary line.
Also a very ripe smelling manure heap. ( see comment about goose poo)
It is a good job we get on with our neighbours!

Think he is too old now for that, but quite happy with what he has done. I think this happened some time ago. The son lives on the Island as property where Dad lives is being bought by weekenders & commuters.
