One in three mouthfuls of the food we eat is dependent on pollination at a time when a crisis is threatening the world's honey bees. They are dying out at unacceptably high levels. You can make a difference by sponsoring a beehive with the British Beekeepers Association (BBKA).

The money raised will fund research into honey bee health, and education programmes for beekeepers. You can see a list of all the projects the BKA is aiming to fund by clicking here.

If you would like to share in the hidden world of beekeepers and their honey bees Adopt a Beehive today and help us save the honey bee!

Not quite sure I follow the point of that scheme. Send money to people whp have bees... how is that improving the lot of the bee?

If anyone wants to adopt a beehive and send me £30, I assure you it will all go to increasing our colonies and buying new hiveboxes and I will send you a whole pound of honey - that's twice as good an offer as BBKA/Saga
