default Feathers? We got lots of that!

Post by GB on 9th August 2010, 11:33 pm

As I seem to be unable to throw feathers away am trying to find some things to do with them.

Have quail, duck and rooster feathers in the freezer and they are threatening to take over all useable space

I give the finches handfuls of duck down for nesting material but thats all I have found to do with them so far.

Did give a turkeys worth of feathers (Narragansett turkey) to the school for crafts but would like to use them myself really.

Mum and I are starting to make things for car boot and market sales so feathers might be good for little sellable things.

Ideas welcome

If you get desperate for space, you can compost feathers (but I know that's further on down the 'reuse, recycle' process!)

One of my favourite things to do as a child was make Indian headdresses out of them, it could entertain me for hours in the making and pretend play process, my mum loved it!
